Directions to Kigbeare

From a bit nearer:
Once in Okehampton town itself, there are two sets of traffic lights; one by the Church, and one slightly further on, by the White Hart Hotel. Turn right at the second set, and at a mini roundabout, you will see the Co-Op and Waitrose supermarkets to your left and right. Go straight on, and follow the road up hill. You will eventually (about 5 mins of twisty road) get to a T junction. Turn left and follow the A386 for about another 5 mins. You will pass a sign to The Grange Riding Stables, and then you turn right where the sign says Peacewater, Maddaford, Southcott. Continue on this little road (Dry Lane) for as far as you can go – about 2 miles – until you reach a little bridge. Cross the bridge and drive up the lane and you have arrived!

Second alternative:
Come off the M5 at Junc 31 onto the A30 as normal. Ignore the Okehampton turnoff and follow the A30 until you get to the exit for the A386. Take the exit and when you get to the T junction for the A386, turn right into the A386 and head towards Hatherleigh (not Tavistock). Using this route you by-pass the town of Okehampton. Follow the A386 under the bridge, past a petrol station on your left and keep going over two roundabouts. At the second roundabout, keep on the A386, but you are almost there, so watch out for the sign that says Peacewater, Maddaford Southcott, and turn left into Dry Lane Keep on Dry Lane for about 2 miles, cross over the little bridge, drive up the track and you have arrived.

Airport and Train Station:
Nearest international airport and train station – Exeter

From far afield:
Get to the M5 and head for Exeter, until you come to Junction 31, Take the A30, which will be signposted to Okehampton.. (there is an earlier turnoff for the A30 at Junction 29 which you DON’T take).
Once on the A30, there are two alternatives:
You travel for about 30 minutes or so, and then you will see a signpost to Okehampton. Follow the directions, and you will come off the A30 to a T junction, with a BP petrol station on your left. Turn right, and follow the road down the hill into Okehampton.
